Another productive week this week has seen Blue Eyes Behind the mask enter the final eighty or so pages. I am becoming more and more excited at the prospect of Heartbound having some company on my Amazon bookshelf and I am also looking forward to seeing how it performs.
Though Blue Eyes Behind the Mask is taking priority over my WIP, that does not mean I have completely abandoned it. I have opted to work on my WIP two days a week and dedicate the rest to Blue Eyes Behind the Mask. This will ensure that my WIP is still moving along whilst Blue Eyes Behind the Mask is prepared for the reading public.
Balancing two works is a challenge, but I am enjoying it as Blue Eyes Behind the Mask and my WIP are two very different novels - though both are YA, one is fantasy and the other is paranormal thriller.

This week's update is a little different to the recent posts. With Blue Eyes Behind the Mask edging ever closer to the publication stage, I have been starting to put together the finishing touches together, such as the blurb. Any budding writers reading this, learning the difference between a blurb and a synopsis is critical for getting your writing career off to the best possible start, so check out some helpful tips here.
This week, I wrote three blurbs for Blue Eyes Behind the Mask, and I am delighted to share them with you! Let me know what you think!
After a couple of difficult weeks with my writing, everything appears to be back to normal! I've added another 1500 words to my WIP and I my confidence is growing with each chapter I complete. My word count is now over 18 000, so it is really coming along well.
I am now at a stage where I need to think about the front and back covers for Blue Eyes Behind the Mask. I have written two blurbs, and will be writing a couple more in the coming days to get the right one. As for the front cover, I have a few ideas brimming away, but nothing set in stone just yet.
This stage of writing and publishing a novel is like the home straight of a marathon. The finish line is in sight, but I am still considering my publishing route; should I self-publish like I did with Heartbound, or try the mainstream route again? Or maybe something completely different. Time will tell.
It is a really exciting time for all my writing plans. Everything is coming together and I am confident that Blue Eyes Behind the Mask will perform as well as Heartbound. After all, it has been four or five years in the making!
It's been a case of ironing out creases in Blue Eyes Behind the Mask this week. The third and final draft is well underway and thoughts are now turning to the cover, blurb and publishing route.
Heartbound taught me a lot about self-publishing and how to operate as a self-published author. This route is definitely appealing to me again, though I will not rush into a decision. Deciding to self-publish is a huge call, and you have to understand exactly what it entails. There is still time for me to make such a call, and I will not make it lightly.
In other news, I am still adding to my current WIP where I can, though Blue Eyes Behind the Mask is taking priority, especially with various other commitments to attend to as well.
Here's hoping for another productive week next week!
It's a very busy time with my writing at the moment, but that's not a bad thing! It's just the way I like it! It is also an exciting time.
After Heartbound was released, I had a goal in mind; get another novel out by Autumn 2015. It was a tall order, considering I had university commitments to contend with, but this week I took another step closer to achieving this goal.
This week, I finished the second edit of Blue Eyes Behind the Mask. Considering I started writing it four years ago, it has certainly been a labour of love, but I am confident that the day will soon arrive for it to be ready for the reading public.
One more edit awaits for Blue Eyes Behind the Mask, just to iron out any other creases. Keep watching this space for updates!
