This week has been... inconsistent to say the least. After working so hard with getting Heartbound out and with all my other commitments at university, fatigue has started creeping in. I've always said writing is a discipline; you will get days where your body and your mind simply cannot function and you have to take a rest from time to time. Constantly pushing my mind to cope with all kinds of demands forced me into this over the course of the week.
Not only that, but I also had problems with my Internet on Thursday. You're probably thinking you don't need the Internet to write a novel, but for me it is an important tool. I like to work with some kind of background noise (silence actually intimidates me!), and so I use Spotify - which requires an Internet connection. Frustrated, I lost all motivation and my writing took a heavy knock.
On a more positive note, the first chapter of my new work has been completed! A while ago, I wrote about starting a series of shorter novels than Heartbound and I think this new work could follow this format. It is still early days, but hopefully it will be a success!
As the final part of my degree looms, I would just like to share this photo from my accommodation provider. A massive thanks to them for getting Heartbound noticed by my fellow students! Fingers crossed for a better week next week.
